Look 6: Black Diamond by China Glaze and Silver Bow.

Hace unos meses incorporé a mi colección de lacas de uñas mis primeras adquisiciones de China Glaze.
A few months ago I added my first purchases of nail polish by China Glaze to my collection.

Había oído hablar maravillas de esta marca, y la tenía medio fichada en Maquillalia. Pero un día paseando por el centro, me encontré con una tienda donde venden estas lacas.
Me pareció genial, ya que podía ver los colores en persona y no guiarme por los swatches, que ya sabéis, según la luz, el contraste, pueden ser algo engañosos.
I had heard wonderful things about this brand and I had my eyes set on some on Maquillalia. But one day I was walking downtown and I ran into a shop which sells this brand.
I thought it was great, to see the colours in person and not let myself led by the swatches, that, as you know, depending on the lighting and contrast can be deceptive.

Parece como si al salir de la tienda (las tres veces) me hubiese "mirado un bizco", porque no he dado ni una...
It seems like a black cat had crossed in front of me, because I am jinxed.

Bien, me reservo de momento mis otras dos adquisiciones, pero hoy os quiero hablar de mi relación amor-odio con esta laca, a la que voy pillándole el tranquillo (más o menos).
Well, I'm going to keep my two other purchases to myself, but today I would like to talk about my love-hatred relationship with this polish I am getting the hang of it (most of the times).

La laca es Black Diamond de China Glaze. La verdad es que ha pasado sin pena ni gloria por los blogs más "chachi" y no me extraña.
The polish is Black Diamond by China Glaze. The truth is it has passed almost unnoticed by the most trendy blogs and it's no wonder.

BLACK  DIAMOND. CHINA GLAZE. SHIMMER.


Calidad: Laca de la que dicen que no lleva las tres "T" (era la "t"?). Habrá que hacerles caso.
Quality: About this product it is said not to contain the three "T's" (was it "t"?). We'll have to take heed of it.

Fórmula: Eso, que como que no tengo laboratorio en casa, el Quiminova no me cayó esas Navidades, pero la fórmula es shimmer y tiene más guasa que Caín, deja refilones y hasta la tercera capa (o segunda gorda) no se ve opaca.
Formula: Er... I don't have a laboratory at home, I was not given the Merit Chemistry last Christmas, but the formula is shimmer and trickiest than Cain, streaky and not opaque until the third coat (or a thick second).

Color: En la botella se ve gris oscuro con ciertos destellos finitos, nada de purpurina. Los destellos vienen a ser entre plateados y azul oscuro. Ya en las uñas se aclara el color un poco y a ratos recuerda al azul marino. Si vais buscando un negro perlado, olvidaos.
Colour: In the bottle it looks like charcoal (gunmetal) grey with some thin shimmer, not glitter. The shimmer looks like silver and navy blue. It is on the nails when the colur gets a little lighter and sometimes seems pretty blue. If you are looking for a black shimmer, forget it.

Duración: Me las pinté el domingo y ya hoy algunas están un poco descascarilladas (en honor a la verdad, he estado en la playa, y no he usado guantes, etc.). Digamos que: duración normal-alta.
Duration: I painted my nails on Sunday and some have some tip wear today (honestly, I have been on the beach and I have washed a lot without gloves). Say medium-high duration.

Tendencia: Actualmente, Chanel tiene la Black Pearl, que tira a eso, "perla negra", con lo cual los destellos son más verdosos.
Trends: Currently, Chanel sells the Black Pearl one, which just this, a "black pearl" effect with green shimmer in it.


Esta es como la tercera vez que me las pinto de ese color en un tiempo relativamente corto. Como os comentaba en un post anterior, este verano estoy un poco cansada de colorines y necesito tonos apagados y elegantes, no sé, rachas que tiene una...
This is like the third time I have painted my nails in this colour in a relatively short time. As I commented on a previous post, this summer I feel a little bit sick of so much colourfulness and I need muted and elegant colours, I don't know, it goes in phases...

El domingo pensé que era buen momento para combinar Black Diamond con alguna estampación curiosa y salió esto.
On Sunday I thought it could be a good time to combine Black Diamond with a nice stamping and this came out.

Y después de depotar/ After depotting...

...Vino el etiquetar!!! ...came the labelling!!!

"¿Cómo? ¿Etiquetar?" Sí, la paleta (al igual que los godets), como sabéis ya tiene unos imanes debajo para que las sombras se fijen y no se caigan. Y bueno, las sombras que depoté, por defecto no los traen...
"What? Labelling?" Yes, as you know the palettes (as well as the refilling pans) come with some magnets inside to make the pans fix and avoid falls. And well, the shadows I depotted don't bring any...

"Ah!! después del estropicio del otro día, tú lo que no quieres es que se te suiciden las sombras!!"
"Aw!! After last day's mess, what you don't want is your poor eyeshadows to kill themselves!!!"

Para esta mini-manualidad de hoy necesitáis/ For this mini-DIY today you will need:

• Imanes de estos finísimos/ Really thin and soft magnets.
• Pegamento/ Glue.
• Etiquetas autoadhesivas de papel/ Paper sticky labels.

Bien, yo empecé recortando imanes grandecitos, para que las sombras no acabaran como la Copa del Rey...

Depotando sombras...menuda experiencia! / Depotting eyeshadows...what an experience!

Hola a todos. Tenía pensado hacer otro post, pero he tenido un día de esos de DIY-potinguero (bricolaje) y tengo que compartirlo con vosotros (porque si no, reviento).
Hi everybody: I had been thinking of making a different post, but I've had one of those  DIY-make-up days and I need to share this with you (otherwise I may burst in anger).

La cosa viene del viernes, donde me pasé por el stand de MAC de El Corte Inglés. Ya me conocen y por mi nombre de pila, cosa preocupante para mi tarjeta de crédito.
To make a long story short the thing started last Friday, when I popped up MAC's stand. They already know me, and by my first name, which is quite disturbing for my credit card's sake.

Tenía muchas ganas de hacerme con una sombra en particular, de la que ya os hablaré más adelante, y me planteé la posibilidad de comprarla en godet, es decir, sin cajita, sólo el relleno.
I really felt like getting a particular eyeshadow, I will talk about sometime, and considered the possibility of getting myself a refilling pan.

El precio de MAC está por las nubes, de un tiempo a esta parte las sombras mono vienen a costar 17€, si embargo los godet cuestan 14. Interesa a la larga, estás pagando 3 euros más por unas cajitas poco prácticas, feotas, blabla.
MAC prices are a bit high, from a time now, the mono regular eyeshadows cost about €17, and the refilling pans 14. It is such an investment in the long term, because you are paying €3 por not very useful, ugly boxes, blabla.

Tenía varias cajitas de sombras, un rollo, porque en las bolsas de aseo se te vuelcan, nunca encuentras la que buscas, y pensé que sería buena idea hacerme con una paleta.
Después de valorar la Z-palette, y los gastos de envío, pensé que era mejor invertir en una paleta de MAC original.
I had some boxes of eyeshadows, quite a nuissance, because they get messed up inside the toilet bag, you never find one easily, and I thought it could be a good idea to get an empty palette.
After considering the Z-palette and the shipping costs, I decided to invest on the MAC original palette.

Y así salí de MAC, con muestras, la paleta de 15 vacía (15€) y el recambio de sombra.
And then I came out of MAC stand, with some samples, the empty palette of 15 shadows (15€) and the refilling pan.

Ahora es cuando viene el jaleo. And then the mess happened.

Look 5 "Romantic Print"

Hace un tiempo que no actualizo y antes de nada me gustaría decir dos cosas, lo primero es "disculpad", he tenido una racha de baja inspiración y bloqueo. Lo segundo es "gracias", por vuestras visitas diarias y continuas al blog, pese a que no he escrito en un mes y medio, las visitas y las suscripciones han aumentado.
It has been a while since I have not updated and first of all I would like to say two things, first "sorry", I've been through a moment of low inspiration and mental block. And second, "thanks", for your daily and continuous visits to the blog, although I haven't posted in a month and a half, the hits and suscriptions have increased.

Vuelvo a la carga con una estampación de Konad. He hecho muchas en este tiempo y tengo muchas cosas que contaros, reflexiones, frustraciones, mejoras...
I come back with a Konad stamping. I have made many all this time and I have many things to share, thoughts, frustration, improvement...

Se supone que en este tiempo ya tendría que manejar el talento de mezclar texturas y colores, en definitiva, hacer estampaciones más complejas. Sin embargo, de un tiempo a esta parte, tengo muchas ganas de otoño y estoy un poco quemada de tanto colorín y neones, etc. y claro, esto afecta a mis manicuras.
Maybe I was supposed to manage the skill of mixing textures and colours, definitely, of making more complex stampings. However, from some time now, I really feel like autumn and I am a little sick of so much bright colours and neons, and obviously, this affects my manis.

Siempre me ha gustado el gris y me ha parecido un color muy elegante para las uñas, favorecedor y ponible.
I have always liked grey colour and to me it is very elegant for your nails, flattering and wearable.
