BBC: Lalala?/ Weddings&Events: Lalala?

Hoy es viernes, ¡qué ganas!. La verdad es que ha sido una semana complicada, pero hemos tenido tan buen tiempo por aquí abajo ya que ya apetece salir más, tomar el sol.

Sigo con la boda en perspectivas, y sigo viendo muchas cosas sin saber qué me voy a terminar poniendo. Hoy le toca revisión a algo, que se pusieron nuestras madres, si sois de mi generación o que incluso os habéis puesto vosotras mismas si sois veteranas: los vestidos ye-ye de los 60's y 70's.
I still have my sight in the wedding event, and I see many things without knowing exactly what to wear that day. Today we will comment on something our mother wore, if you are of my age, or something you may have worn if you are veterans: 60's Mod dresses and 70's boho chic.

Todo es muy pop, muy naïve y más cuando se acerca la primavera. Cada vez que entro en una web de moda, se me viene a la mente Massiel, y no por la desafortunada fama de "chisposa" en bodas famosiles, sino por el estilo de moda que se llevaba cuando ganó Eurovisión por primera vez para España (Salomé ganó al año siguiente). Desde luego, nos tuvo que mirar un bizco con muy mala leche (como dicen en mi tierra) porque la suerte no nos ha vuelto a sonreír desde entonces.
Everything is very Pop, naïve and even more as spring is coming closer. Everytime I visit a fashion website, Massiel comes to my mind, and not because of her unfortunate reputation as a "partygoer" in d-class celebrity events, but because of the style of clothing in fashion at that time, when she won the Eurovision Song Contest for the first time for Spain (Salome won the following year again). As a matter of fact, it is just a clowder of rabid black cats have crossed just in front of us, we have not been lucky since then.

Dos correctores/ Two Concealers: Moisturecover vs Pro Longwear.

Son los dos correctores líquidos de MAC por excelencia. Pro Longwear (PL de ahora en adelante) no lleva ni dos meses en el mercado, al menos en España. /These are the two MAC concealers par excellence. Pro Longwear (PL from now on) was launched about two months ago, at least in Spain.

Moisturecover/Pro Longwear

Generalmente, los correctores sirven para cubrir imperfecciones: granos, rojeces, ojeras. Si estas imperfecciones son leves (pequeñas manchas, o despigmentaciones, ojeras no muy oscuras), nos servirá un color semejante al de nuestra piel (o un tono menos). Si por el contrario son manchas u ojeras oscuras necesitaremos un color como el de nuestra piel  pero dentro de la gama cálida.
As a general basis, concealers are used to cover imperfections: blemishes, dark circles and spots. If these are minor imperfections (small spots or despigmentations, not very dark circles) a colour similar to our skin tone (or a tone less) will do. On the contrary, if we have dark spots or circles, we will need a colour that matches our skin but within the warm range.

Inspiración/ Inspiration: Sonia Rykiel

La colección SS 2011 de Sonia Rykiel se ha basado en la mezcla de colores con el camel como protagonista. Ya hemos pasado la fiebre del camel este año, pero lo que Rykiel ha conseguido es darle vida a un color, que pese a ser combinable, en ciertas tonalidades es triste y poco favorecedor.
Su paleta ha estado llena de coral, amarillo vainilla, negro, rosa y azul klein. Me ha encantado cómo ha mezclado el rojo con el rosa madreselva, colores tradicionalmente "incompatibles".

The SS collection by Sonia Rykiel has been based on the mixture of colours with camel as the protagonist. We have been through the camel fever last winter, but what Rykiel has achieved is to bring life to a colour, that, despite of being easy to combine, is sometimes dull and not very flattering.
Her palette has been full of coral, vanilla yellow, black and klein blue. I love how she matched the red with the honeysuckle, hues traditionally "incompatible".

BBC: drapeados y fruncidos/ Weddings&Events: Drapped and Ruched.

Hace unos años (¿dos?) que me compré para una boda un vestido monísimo de Mango, drapeado en color verde hoja. /A few years ago (two?) I bought a very nice dress by Mango for a wedding, draped in teal colour.

Ahora tengo otra boda y estoy buscando ideas y modelos por Internet. Estoy encontrando de todo un poco, vestidos blancos (por protocolo no se debe ir del mismo color que la novia, por lo que pudiera pasar), complicados (hablaremos de ellos más adelante) y sobre todo, drapeados y fruncidos.
Now I have been invited to another wedding and I am searching for ideas and models over the Internet. I have found a little bit of everything, white dresses (according to the protocol you cannot wear in white as the bride, because of what may happen), complicated (we will talk about them sometime) and most of all, draped and ruched.

No creo que opte por esta opción (de nuevo) pero para las que vais a eventos esta primavera, hagamos una recopilación de tendencias. I do not think I will make the same choice (again) but for those who are attending to events this spring, here we have made a compilation of trends.

Otra opción es combinar el drapeado con escote asimétrico (escote Diana). Hay que tener cuidado porque el drapeado aumenta el volumen, evitadlo si tenéis las caderas muy anchas o mucho pecho. Todo lo contrario, si queréis darle vida a un pecho pequeño a las caderas.

Another choice is to combine the draped in an assimetric neck (Diana neck). You must be very careful because the draped increases the size, avoid it if you have very wide hips or large shirt size. On the contrary, use it if you want to enhance these parts.

Empecemos/ Let's start.

Productos para el cabello y siliconas: toda la verdad/ Hair Products and Silicones: The Truth

Hace unos días me comentaba una amiga, que una compañera suya tenía el pelo estropeado y que era por culpa de los champús con silicona. Me sonó a chino.
Some days ago, a friend of mine told me that an acquaintance had a frizzy and dry hair and it was because of shampoos with silicones. It was all Greek to me.

Recurrí a Internet para averiguar algo al respecto y desde hacía años se habían creado ligas en foros de belleza contra ese componente en productos para el pelo, con el argumento de que "plastifican" el pelo e impiden la absorción de nutrientes.
I searched on the Internet to learn something about it, and from long ago many leagues against these components in hair products had been created with the idea that they "plasticize" the hair and prevent it from absorbing nutrients.

Incluso aportaban una lista de supuestas siliconas "-conol/ono/xane" y productos a desterrar. Me entró miedo, y me fui corriendo al baño a buscar entre los botes los malignos sufijos. Y allí estaban, todos.
They even supplied a list of supposed silicones "-conol/ono/xane" and products to avoid. I was scared and ran into the toilet to look for among the shampoo bottles the malignant suffixes. And there they were, all of them.

Clones: Hervé Léger!!!!

Hoy es uno de esos días de bajón. Pero ha sido llegar a Facebook y cambiarme la cara. Today is one of those grey days. However since I logged in Facebook, I have a much happier look  now.

He pillado otro clon. I have caught another clone.

Resumiendo con el post de ayer: no sé si falta inspiración o los clones llegan a destiempo. Esta vez le ha tocado a Hervé Leger y el mítico vestido de bandas en distintos tonos de gris.
Summarizing today and yesterday's post: I do not know if it is a lack of inspiration or the clones arrive delayed. This time it is Hervé Léger's turn and the mythic bandage dress in a scale of grey tones.

El de la derecha es el clon de Blanco. La verdad es que esta temporada proponen los vestidos de bandas ceñidos.

Clones: vestidos de encaje/Lace Dresses

Sé que me vais a decir que estoy más antigua que el TBO, pero últimamente veo clones de vestidos de temporadas pasadas por todos sitios.
You are going to think that I am totally old-fashioned, but I see clones of last season dresses everywhere.

El encaje no ha terminado de marcharse, como ya sabéis, y yo ando buscando modelito para una boda, y así, entre una cosa y otra, he encontrado dos clones.
Lace is not out of fashion yet, as you know, and I am searching for a nice outfit for a wedding. So, what with one thing and another, I have found two clones.

El de D&G parece que tiene más volumen y es más largo, obviando la calidad del encaje, desde luego.
D&G's one looks more voluminous and longer, not to mention the quality of the lace, of course.

La siguiente aportación clonera viene de la mano de nuestra adorada Olivia Palermo (el mundo fashionista es un "poco" bastante más aburrido sin sus estilismos).

Lo he perseguido hasta la saciedad, y ahora que lo he encontrado...uff, qué precios por encaje de poliéster!!!!

Llegan los días largos, los rincones soleados, llega la primavera, y con ella el color.
Longer days are coming, the sunny little places, the spring and along with it, the colour.

Las tendencias en maquillaje y moda este año se cogen de la mano para recibir a los colores eléctricos, los flúor. Son colores que tuvieron su espacio en los años 80 y que vuelven con fuerza ahora.
The tendencies in fashion and makeup hold hands to welcome the electric colours, the neon ones. These colour had their room in the 80's and they are back now with renewed strengh.

Empecemos por el maquillaje de ojos. Let's start with eye makeup.

Rostros nude muy corregidos y frescos y un grueso eyeliner en color coral. Ojos muy iluminados con lápiz blanco en el lagrimal y hacia la nariz y el arco de la ceja. No lo intentéis sin corregir el párpado o las ojeras, porque entonces parecerá que os han dado un puñetazo en el ojo.
Nude complexion and flawless and fresh skin with a thick eyeline in bright coral. Very illuminated eyes with a white pencil in the tear duct towards the nose and the browbone. Do not try it without concealing the eyelid and the dark circles or it may seem that you've been punched in the eye.

Dice una amiga que son muy "Antes muerta que sencilla" (muy Maria Isabel), y es verdad. Son de Natura, una tienda de ropa y complementos que tiene cosas sorprendentes a veces.

A friend of mine says that they are very "I'd rather be dead than plain" (song title by Maria Isabel) and it's true. They are by Natura, a clothes and accessories shop that is amazing many times.
